Mary J. Blige announces first ever Las Vegas residency

Mary J. Blige has announced her first ever Las Vegas residency.

The iconic Queen of Hip-Hop Soul celebrated her 55th birthday on Sunday (11.01.26) and marked the occasion the following day by revealing plans for Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story at Dolby Live at Park MGM, with the special show kicking off in May.

In a statement, she said: “I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency. Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do.

“It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over – different cities, states, and countries – to experience something together. “My Life, My Story will be just that – with some surprises for my fans that have been there through it all. See you in May!”

Appearing on the Today Show this week, Blige teased that the show will feature “actors and actresses” to help tell her story.

She explained: “It’s going to be done more theatrically.

“It’s still going to have the music, it’s still going to be fun — but it’s a story, so there’s going to be actors and actresses. So the music tells the story.

“I have so many songs that I haven’t performed yet for my fans… The actors are going to narrate the music, but you’re still going to have a good time.”

The first stint of the 10-date residency will run from May 1 to 9, before she returns to the venue from July 10 to 18.

The Real Love hitmaker is also preparing for the release of her Lifetime original film Be Happy, which will drop on February 7 and stars Tisha Campbell, Mekhi Phifer and Russel Hornsby.

Tickets for Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story go on sale at 10am PT/1pm ET on Friday (16.01.26) via Ticketmaster, with an artist pre-sale on January 14, and plus a separate pre-sale the following day for MGM Rewards and MGM Resorts loyalty rewards program members, plus Live Nation and Ticketmaster customers.
