Brian May’s wife reveals the future of Queen

Sir Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson has suggested Queen won’t be doing big tours after his stroke.

The 78-year-old guitar god was taken to hospital in September 2024 after suffering a “minor” stroke, which initially left him without any control over one of his arms, which he has since regained control of.

Regarding the future of the legendary rock band, his spouse appears to believe the We Will Rock You hitmakers, who have been in the studio with singer Adam Lambert, will be embarking on mammoth tours following the health scare.

She told The Mirror: “They will do little bits and bobs, but they won’t do those big tours.”

He told Rolling Stone: “I don’t think we’re done. And I don’t think we’re going to say a final farewell tour. Because it never is, is it?”

When asked on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend podcast if he is “fully recovered” following his stroke, Brian said: “I’ve had a number of things, Alan, yeah, the stroke was one of them.

“I’ve been lucky, I get these things, but I seem to be able to get out of them.

“They give you a wake-up call.”

In February, Brian told how he feared he would never play guitar again after suffering a stroke.

He told Guitarist magazine: “It went through my mind. When I suddenly couldn’t control this left arm, it was quite scary. I had no idea what was going on.

“I phoned my doctor and she said, ‘Okay, I think you’re having a minor stroke. Dial 999, get in the ambulance and I’ll see you there.’ But even at the worst time, although I couldn’t control where the arm was, I could control my fingers.

“So I thought, ‘I’m probably not really in danger.’ I’m all right now. I’m just taking it slow.”

Anita’s comments come after drummer Roger Taylor suggested they weren’t done touring yet.
