Casey McQuillen proud to support Ditch the Label

Casey McQuillen is “so proud” to be an advocate for Ditch the Label.

The Skinny singer is delighted to be working with the youth charity, whose support mentors help young people aged 12-25 around the world, because she wants to help “empower” young people and encourage them to “embrace” who they are.

She said: “I’ve spent years touring schools across the U.S. and Europe, performing my anti-bullying concert series and connecting with students about confidence, kindness, and self-worth.

“That’s why I’m so proud to officially partner with Ditch the Label, an organisation that shares my mission to empower young people to stand up against bullying and embrace who they are. Together, we’re amplifying a message that’s more important now than ever: you are not alone, and you are enough.”

The former American Idol contestant recently told how the likes of Taylor Swift and Adele have helped “shape” her songwriting.

She told RTE: “Growing up, I was glued to Top 40 radio and completely obsessed with pop singer-songwriters. I’ve always loved artists who are both vulnerable and bold – people who tell the truth in their songs but still make it feel like a party.

“Icons like Taylor Swift and Adele have shaped the way I think about storytelling and emotion, and I’m constantly inspired by female breakout artists like Maisie Peters and Alessi Rose, who bring such a fresh, fearless energy to pop right now.

“I love that balance of honesty and joy – the kind of music that can break your heart one minute and get you dancing the next.”

Casey – who has performed her anti-bullying concert series for more than 50,000 students across the US, UK, and Ireland – credits her music for helping her to “make sense of life”.

She said: “I use songwriting as my way of making sense of life. Whether I’m over the moon, heartbroken, or completely unsure of what’s next, I process it by turning those emotions into lyrics.”

Casey has just released her festive track, Christmas Morning (I’ll Be Home).
