Matt Goss asks Luke Goss to reunite on stage

Matt Goss has asked his estranged brother Luke Goss to “get back on stage” with him.

The 56-year-old twins – who have not spoken for a long time, of which Matt has never revealed the details why – last performed together in 2017 for a show to mark the 30th anniversary of their 1980s boy band Bros at The O2 Arena, London.

Now, Matt has taken to his Instagram Stories to ask his brother – who is an actor – to put their differences aside and perform their hits to their legion of fans once again.

Captioning a photo of the pair doing a video call interview together, Matt wrote: “Lets get back on stage @thelukegoss (sic).”

Matt formed Bros with Luke and their school friend Craig Logan, 56, in 1986, but they split after six years amid tension in the band.

Matt recently called for an Oasis-style comeback – brothers Noel Gallagher, 58, and Liam Gallagher, 53, put aside their differences – of the band, and that there is “no good reason” for him and Luke to take to the stage again.

Matt told the Daily Mail newspaper: “There’s no good reason for us not to do it.

“I hope me and my brother can find a path forward, I would love nothing more than for us to reunite.

“Bros put on spectacles when we go out, and I would love nothing more.

“I hope the coming year is a year when me and my brother can put our differences aside, as he’s the love of my life, my best mate, so I would like to bind up my void.”

Matt believes Luke currently needs “space” from him.

He added: “I think discretion is everything, but I would say we’re born on the same day, were brought up together, went to school together, so maybe he just needs space from me.

“But nobody knows me better than him, and I believe nobody knows him better than me, so I hope we find a way to make an amends.”

Matt – who was the frontman of Bros, Luke was the drummer, and Craig was on bass – believes one source of the conflict was his brother’s unspoken unhappiness at not being the centre of attention in the band.

In June, Matt told Loaded magazine: “I felt like there’s always been that underlying resentment from my brother as I was the singer.”

Matt was “floored” when he, Luke and Craig first went their separate ways, but he forged a hugely successful career in the US, and later enjoyed an 11-year stint singing in Las Vegas hotels and casinos.
