50 Cent celebrates Taylor Swift shoutout

50 Cent is celebrating getting a shoutout on Taylor Swift’s new album.

The 50-year-old rapper was overjoyed to get a mention on Ruin the Friendship, the sixth track on Taylor’s latest record The Life of a Showgirl.

He wrote on Instagram: “@taylorswift s*** is popping right now, she shout me out, she don’t shout you out. LOL THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY!

“Wait I’m the only shout out on the whole album.”

On the emotional track Taylor looks back on a teenage crush and the regret of not taking a risk and kissing the person.

She sings: “And it was not an invitation/But as the 50 Cеnt song played/Should’ve kissed you anyway.

“And it was not convenient, no/Would’ve been the best mistake/Should’ve kissed you anyway, hey.”

Fans have speculated that the track is about Jeffrey Lang, whom Swift attended Hendersonville High School with.

He died at age 21 in November 2010.

Speaking at the 2010 BMI Country Music Awards after his death, she said: “Yesterday, I sang at the funeral of one of my best friends. And he was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang.”

Meanwhile, Taylor -who made history with her record-breaking Eras Tour that spanned 149 shows from 2023 to 2024 – has insisted she is in no rush to tour with her new album.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James, she said: “I’m gonna be really honest with you. Like, I am so tired when I think about doing it again because I would want to do it really, really well again.

“It was truly astonishing for all of us who were on that tour. We were like, what is going on? It turned into something very quickly that we, that exceeded any of our expectations for what the tour could have been.

“I knew it was crazy what was happening. We never had anything happen like that. I’ve been with my band for a very long time. My tour, my touring family, my team… we’re all very close and have been forever and none of us have ever had anything like that happen.”
