Taylor Swift surprises fans by breaking sequence of recent album countdowns

Taylor Swift surprised fans by breaking the sequence of her recent countdowns linked to her upcoming album.

The 35-year-old singer–songwriter, full name is Taylor Alison Swift, has been promoting her forthcoming 12-track album The Life of a Showgirl through a series of website countdowns, but the latest timer running for three hours instead of continuing the expected pattern.

Fans have closely tracked the timings, believing they formed a deliberate sequence.

The first lasted five hours, the second four and the third three.

Each previous countdown ended with the unveiling of limited-edition vinyl variants, all of which sold out within hours.

The most recent countdown began at 1pm ET and finished at 4pm ET on Monday (25.08.25), running for three hours again rather than dropping to two.

When it concluded, Taylor revealed two more limited-edition vinyls, collectively titled The Tiny Bubbles in Champagne Collection.

The first variant, Under Bright Lights Pearlescent, features a champagne-inspired colour palette, while the second, Red Lipstick and Lace Transparent, uses orange tones.

Both covers show Taylor wearing a star-shaped bejewelled headpiece surrounded by orange ostrich feathers, with her trademark red lipstick.

The vinyls are available on the pop star’s website until Wednesday (27.08.25) at 3:59pm ET.

Taylor has now released several vinyl editions for the record, with earlier special editions selling out in less than an hour.

The singer first announced The Life of a Showgirl earlier this month on an episode of New Heights, the podcast hosted by her partner Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.

The album is due to be released on 3 October.

Taylor has recently shattered music records worldwide – from being the first woman to win the Grammy for Album of the Year four times, to dominating charts with Midnights and 1989 (Taylor’s Version), and selling out her global Eras Tour.

Her career now spans nearly two decades, and has seen her transformation from country prodigy to global pop icon.

She has sold over 200 million records, won 14 Grammy awards and broken streaming records.

Her re-recorded albums redefine artistic ownership while her Eras Tour set new stadium attendance and revenue milestones worldwide.
