Rod Stewart makes self-enforced announcement ban during Glastonbury set

Sir Rod Stewart won’t make any announcements during his Glastonbury set – because he wants to “get in as many songs” as he can.

The Do Ya Think I’m Sexy hitmaker will perform in the Legends slot at Worthy Farm on Sunday (29.06.25), and he has managed to negotiate an additional 15 minutes set time to one hour-and-a-half, after he was initially offered 75 minutes.

However, Rod still won’t be able to play some of his hits on the Pyramid Stage, so he wants to limit his talking in between tunes.

He told the BBC: “Usually I do well over two hours so there’s still a load of songs we won’t be able to do.

“But we’ve been working at it. I’m not gonna make any announcements between songs. I’ll do one number, shout ‘next’, and go straight into the next one.

“I’m going to get in as many songs I can.”

While the 80-year-old music legend is looking forward to performing at the Somerset spectacle, he isn’t keen on his set being called the “teatime slot”, because the name reminds him of “pipe and slippers”.

He added: “I just wish they wouldn’t call it the teatime slot.

“That sounds like pipe and slippers, doesn’t it?”

Rod has told fans he will be “in good voice” during his Legends slot, and he is looking forward to “entertaining” the crowd.

He explained: “You know, it’s wonderful.

“I’ll be in good voice. I’ll enjoy myself. I don’t care anymore what the critics think.

“I’m there to entertain my people.”

Rod recently promised fans his Glastonbury set will be “special”.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to it. And it is a different gig. It’s like when you’re playing a cup final: you’re trying to treat it like another game. But, of course, it’s not. It’s special.

“It’ll be glamorous, it’ll be sexy.

“Not me – I’m talking about the other members of the group! And we’ve got a little orchestra coming on to play with us. And we may have some bagpipes.”
