The Who and Frank Carter and Sex Pistols confirmed for Teenage Cancer Trust gigs

The Who are reuniting to play a pair of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.

Frontman Roger Daltrey – who founded the fundraising concert series in 2000 and is still an Honorary Patron today – and guitarist Simon Townshend’s last Who gig was TCT last March and the ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmakers will return to the iconic venue on March 27 and March 31 for rare performances of their hits, with jazz-funk legends Level 42 as special guests.

Frank Carter and Sex Pistols Paul Cook, Steve Jones and Glen Matlock will kick off TCT.

The Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes rocker – who replaces lead singer and noisemaker Johnny Rotten (aka John Lydon) – and the Pistols have been playing shows performing the punk rock legends’ seminal 1977 album ‘Never Mind the B*******, Here’s the Sex Pistols’ and will bring their ferocious set to the Royal Albert Hall on March 24.

Guitarist Steve said: “After an incredible 2024, we are itching to get going again this year and what better way than on home territory at a venue that wouldn’t have let us near it back in the day!”

He quipped: “Albert will be turning in his tomb. It’s an honour to help this great charity.”

‘Breathless’ hitmakers The Corrs will grace the stage on March 28, and former ‘X Factor’ winner James Arthur is headlining on March 26.

Andrea Corr said: “We’re thrilled to be performing at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust. This charity is close to our hearts because it provides essential care and support to young people facing the toughest battles of their lives.

“Music has an incredible way of bringing people together and inspiring hope.

“Being part of this event means so much to us, not only as performers but as admirers of the work Teenage Cancer Trust does. It will be a special night.”

‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ hitmaker James commented: “I’ve always admired the great work Teenage Cancer Trust does for young people when they are going through such difficult times. It’s an honour to be asked to be part of it and I can’t wait to perform to support the great work that the charity does.”

Influencer GK Barry – who has just become a Teenage Cancer Trust ambassador – and comedian Micky Flanagan have also been confirmed.

What’s more, to mark the 25th anniversary of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, the British artist and Gorillaz co-creator, Jamie Hewlett, has re-designed his Teenage Cancer Trust logo for 2025. His original design has been given a colourful makeover to represent the ‘Teen Spirit’ of the many young people supported by the charity.

Since 2000, the TCT series has raised more than £34 million for specialist nurses, hospital units and support services for teenagers battling the deadly disease.

Tickets go on sale at 9am GMT on Friday (31.01.25) via www.gigsandtours.com, www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.royalalberthall.com.
