Kraftwerk and Billy Idol set for new UK festival Forever Now

Kraftwerk, Billy Idol and The The are among the acts set to play the inaugural Forever Now festival.

The sister event to California’s Cruel World Festival – an alternative music event which launched in 2022 – will take place at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes, England, on June 22, 2025.

It will mark punk rock icon Billy’s first UK festival appearance since 2015.

The ‘White Wedding’ singer said: “Forever is Now! Looking forward to what will unquestionably an incredible day of music in Milton Keynes!”

Matt Johnson-fronted rock band The The – who returned with their first album in more than two decades, ‘Ensoulment’, this year – previously featured former Smiths star Johnny Marr, and the latter is also on the lineup, suggesting a reunion could be on the cards.

Johnny said: “I’m excited to be playing the first Forever Now on 22nd June 2025, along with some indie rock greats.”

The first wave of artists confirmed also include Death Cult, The Psychedelic Furs, The Jesus and Mary Chain.

The Psychedelic Furs said: “Forever Now started as an idea…then became a song….then an album…and has lived on through the years. Now it’s also become a gathering of some legendary musicians on one day in one place, which we are proud to be part of…”

Former Sex Pistol John Lydon’s band Public Image Ltd, Manchester legends the Happy Mondays and The Damned will also take fans on a nostalgia trip.

Steve Homer, CEO, AEG Presents, said: “We are delighted to present a festival that reflects the rich heritage of artists in the alternative music field. The day will feature some amazing artists, unique sets, and collaborations not seen on a UK stage before. As the birthplace of alt counterculture, the UK is the perfect home for a festival to pay homage to alternative creative artistry.’’

Pre-sale tickets will be available on December 5, with a limited release priced from £85. General sale opens at 10am on December 6 through AXS and Ticketmaster, with VIP packages offering enhanced festival experiences. Fans can register now for pre-sale access and festival updates at forevernowfestival.co.uk.
