Katy Perry confirms first headline UK show in six years

Katy Perry has confirmed her first UK headline show in six years.

The ‘Woman’s World’ singer is set to headline Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at London’s The O2 on December 8 and has teased a “futuristic” sci-fi performance.

She told Capital Breakfast on Thursday morning (07.11.24): “I’m so excited to be coming back to the UK, I love it!

“[I’ll] hopefully follow that up with more [shows].”

The 40-year-old pop star – who last played the ball in 2013 – is set to perform tracks from her new album ‘143’.

Quizzed on what fans can expect, she said: “I’m definitely gonna bring some pizzazz; I always give a little Christmas spirit to it.

“I’m gonna be bringing some new songs off of ‘143’. I’ve been doing a lot of performances that are kind of futuristic, a little sci-fi, and so everything has a little bit of that edge to it right now. I’m just gonna try and bring my light and my joy.”

The show will mark the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker’s first show this side of the pond since 2018’s ‘Witness World Tour’.

Joining Katy for night two of the festive event are Becky Hill, Sonny Fodera, KSI, Joel Corry and Kygo.

Tom Grennan – who recently released his bid for Christmas number one with ‘It Can’t Be Christmas’ – will also perform for a second time as he is also on the bill the night before.

Capital presenters Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby said: “It’s Jordan’s first-ever Jingle Bell Ball, and we can’t wait to get everyone in the festive spirit.”

Ashley Tabor-King CBE, Founder and Executive President of Global, added: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when we fill London’s O2 Arena with the biggest hit music artists in the world and thousands of Capital fans for the UK’s biggest Christmas party!

“It’s such a special event and I’m particularly looking forward to Jordan hosting his first Jingle Bell Ball, with Barclaycard!”

Coldplay will top the bill on December 7 and will also be joined by Teddy Swims, former Little Mix star Perrie, Clean Bandit, Ella Henderson, and Sigala.

Tickets for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard are available on Global Player and go on general sale at 9am on Friday November 8.
