Paul McCartney to round up Got Back Tour 2024 with four UK shows

Sir Paul McCartney is bringing his ‘Got Back Tour’ to the UK this December.

The Beatles legend promised to perform shows in his homeland when he last played this side of the pond at Glastonbury, in 2022.

And he will bring his long-running jaunt – which began in 2022 – to London and Manchester later this year and has vowed to bring the “party”.

Fans of the 81-year-old music legend can expect “hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.”

He said: “I’m excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK.

“It’s always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. It’s going to be an amazing end to the year. Let’s get set to party. I can’t wait to see you.”

It will mark the first time the ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker has performed in the British capital since 2018, when he was at The O2, whilst his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

The UK shows will bring the ‘Got Back Tour’ 2024 to its conclusion.

After two nights at Manchester’s new Co-op Live arena on December 14 and 15, Macca will play two consecutive nights at The O2 on December 18 and 19.

Tickets go on sale from Friday (21.06.24) at 10am.

The UK tour news comes after McCartney recently revealed he is playing five shows in South America this October.

The ‘Let it Be’ hitmaker is heading to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru, between October 1 and 27.

An announcement on his website read: “Paul will bring his acclaimed ‘Got Back’ tour to South America later this year! Fulfilling his promise to ‘get back’, Paul will return to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru. His first show of 2024 will take place on 1st October in Montevideo.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Blackbird’ hitmaker recently become the UK’s first billionaire musician.

Macca has seen his wealth double from £50 million to take the top spot once again in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.

It’s all thanks to his 2023 ‘Got Back’ tour, the increase in value of his back catalogue, the re-release of two Beatles compilation albums, and Beyonce covering ‘Blackbird’ on her new album ‘Cowboy Carter.

He previously took the top spot in 2022, when his fortune was estimated at £865 million, and 2023 when he had £950 million.

Sunday 15th December – Co-op Live, Manchester, UK
