K-Pop star Juri has quit Rocket Punch after five years.

Woollim Entertainment confirmed the 26-year-old Japanese star – whose full name is Juri Takahashi – has departed the South Korean girl group and the agency after her contract expired.

They reassured fans that the band – now comprising Yeonhee, Suyun, Yunkyoung, Sohee and Dahyun – will continue as a five-piece.

A statement read: “Hello,

“This is Woollim Entertainment.

“We would like to express our gratitude to fans who always send endless love and support to our artists.

“Rocket Punch member Juri, who has been with us for the past time, is a foreign member and has a different contract period [from the other] members.

As of today (May 24th), she has terminated her management contract with us.

However, we will continue to support each other’s future wherever we are.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Juri, who has been with us for a long time, and also to the fans who have always shown their unwavering love.

“Woollim Entertainment will continue to provide support and encouragement to Juri, who will greet her [sic] in various fields, and we ask you to give her generous love and support.

“Additionally, Rocket Punch will continue its activities as a five-member system.

“Thank you.”

A year ago, Juri, Yeonhee and Suyun were contestants of Mnet’s survival show ‘Queendom Puzzle’, and Juri finished in 12th place.
