Pierce Brosnan’s best love advice is to "look after yourself" and have "grace under pressure".
The former James Bond star knows plenty about romance and advises that when it comes to unrequited love, you should always look after yourself first.
He told The Huffington Post: "Just because I look the way I look or do what I do doesn’t mean that I’m like that and do that every day of my life. It’s an illusion. I’m just a guy. I know the pain and deep heartache of wanting to be with someone who doesn’t really give you the attention.
"[My advice is to] take your foot off the pedal. Just look after yourself. Protect your heart, and have a sense of grace about it all. Grace under pressure."
Pierce, 60, also knows a great deal about heartbreak, after he lost his first wife, Cassandra Harris, to Ovarian cancer in 1981 and her daughter, Charlotte – whom he adopted in 1986 – to the same condition in 2013.
He added: "It all goes by so quickly, anyway. Love is hard. It’s really hard, especially when they get you by the heart strings."
However, the Irish-born star – who is now married to Keely Shaye Smith – is happy in his everyday life and pleased he can still make a living out of acting.
He added: "I’m happy. I’ve always been happy, actually. I’ve always loved doing what I do. Once I found acting and found that I could get away with it and make a living out of it, I was thrilled."
