Dua Lipa announces Royal Albert Hall gig

Dua Lipa has announced a hometown show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 17.

The ‘Levitating’ hitmaker releases her third studio album ‘Radical Optimism’ this May, and she has announced a special show at the legendary venue where she will play songs from the record alongside her plethora of hits.

She shared on Instagram on Monday (25.03.24): “HOMETOWN !! so excited to announce I’ll be doing a show at The Royal Albert Hall on October 17th this year this is such a special iconic venue and I can’t wait to share these songs live with you, everyone in the UK and Ireland who pre-orders the album via the official store will get early access to pre-sale, hopefully I’ll see you thereee dualipa.lnk.to/pre-sale (sic)”

The 28-year-old pop star previously explained her new record “captures a period of major changes in her life, including the end of a relationship and her forays into dating.”

She told Rolling Stone magazine: “This record feels a bit more raw.

“I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it’s good or bad. You can’t change it. You just have to roll with the punches of whatever’s happening in your life.”

The ‘One Kiss’ singer, 28, was recently confirmed as the Friday night headliner at Glastonbury this June.

She reacted on Instagram: “FRIDAY NIGHT PYRAMID STAGE HEADLINE!!!! I have dreamt of this moment all my life.

“Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations !!!

“I am so excited to see you all in my favourite place on earth and make it a night to remember!! Thank you @emily_eavis ~ GLASTO 4EVER. (sic)”

SZA and Coldplay are her fellow headliners, whilst Shania Twain will play the Sunday afternoon legends slot.
