Supergroup Dead and Company to reunite for residency at Vegas Sphere

Supergroup Dead and Company are reuniting for a Las Vegas residency at the Sphere.

The rock band – including surviving Grateful Dead band members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, as well as John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti, and Oteil Burbridge – might have completed their final tour last year, but they are set to make a comeback with a string of yet-to-be-announced dates at the globe-shaped immersive billion-dollar venue in Sin City, following in the footsteps of U2.

In a social media post, the group said: “In 2023, Dead and Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops. And it’s gonna be a ball.”

It’s not known if drummer Bill Kreutzmann, who quit their final tour due a “shift in creative direction”, will be joining them at the Sphere.

A statement announcing his exit from “Dear Deadheads.

“Every day, things change. After many long discussions and some good old-fashioned soul searching, we are letting you know that our brother Bill Kreutzmann will not be joining us on our final summer tour. Bill wants you to know that he is in good spirits, good health and he is not retiring.

“This is the culmination of a shift in creative direction as we keep these songs alive and breathing in ways that we each feel is best to continue to honour the legacy of the Grateful Dead. The final tour will go on as planned with Bill’s full endorsement and support.”

Irish rockers U2’s final show performing ‘Achtung Baby’ in full is on March 2, and then rockers Phish will make the Sphere their home from April 18 to 21.
