Heidi Range ‘so excited’ for Girls Aloud reunion

Heidi Range is “so excited” about the Girls Aloud reunion.

The ‘Biology’ hitmakers – comprising Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts – recently announced a huge 2024 tour to belatedly celebrate their 20th anniversary in the wake of bandmate Sarah Harding’s death, and the former Sugababes singer is looking forward to seeing them back in action.

Heidi – who has Aurelia, five, and two-year-old Athena with husband Alex Partakis – told Closer magazine: “I’m so excited about the reunion.

“I’m a massive Girls Aloud fan and I’m friends with the girls.

“I’d like to take my big girl to see them, actually.”

Heidi joined Sugababes following the departure of Siobhan Donaghy in 2001 and initially performed alongside Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan before they left and were replaced by Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen respectively.

The original trio reunited as Mutya Keisha Siobhan in 2012 before reclaiming the Sugababes name in 2019, and Heidi won’t rule out performing with them again in the future.

She said: “They’ve all been reunited for years, but never say never!

“I’m just busy being a mum at the moment.”

Heidi previously admitted she was “happy” to see the original Sugababes back in action.

Speaking on the ‘Spinning Plates’ podcast, she said: “I’m happy for them.

“It’s nice that the songs are still out there.

“I am proud that I was part of the success of the songs.

“I wish them well.”

But the former Atomic Kitten singer also admitted she’d like to get back on stage to show her daughters what she can do.

She said: “I feel like I’m just getting to a new stage where I’m ready to remember who I was.

“When I go to shows, you kind of want to grab the mic and have a go.

“There’s a part of me that would love to show her what mummy can do.

“I’d like to do stuff where they can see me do things now that would inspire them and make them proud as they get older.”
