The National are set to headline London’s Crystal Palace Park

The National are set to play a massive outdoor show at London’s Crystal Palace Park in 2024.

The acclaimed rock band will play to the masses on July 5, 2024, with support from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Kevin Morby and This Is The Kit.

The National – comprising Matt Berninger, twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner, and siblings Bryan and Scott Devendorf – said: “We’re excited to be returning to London next summer, a city we’ve always loved. Crystal Palace is a new neighbourhood to us, although not to the football fans in the band.”

Tickets go on general sale for the event at 10am (GMT) on Friday, November 17, via www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Their return to London next year comes after they played two sold-out shows at the British capital’s legendary Alexandra Palace in September.

The same month the group surprised fans with the release of the album ‘Laugh Track’.

The title track is a collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers.

On working with the ‘Motion Sickness’ singer, Aaron told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “It’s always like this special moment when you realise it’s bouncing off people and it’s cathartic in people’s lives and just songs take on a much different, they always surprise us.”

He continued: “The life that a song has is unpredictable and that’s the best part of making music, I think, is seeing where it goes. …I’m also thinking you’ve learned how to deal with anxiety and the suffering that’s in your thoughts better and you start to be able to be more in the moment with the process.

“I think we also have been playing really well live all of a sudden. I think these are best shows that we’ve ever played. The whole thing just feels, it feels like a new chapter. I know maybe we say that every time, but this time I really mean it.”
