Madonna ‘in advanced talks to headline next year’s Glastonbury!’

Madonna is reportedly in “advanced talks” to headline next year’s Glastonbury festival.

The Queen of Pop, 65, who kicked off her delayed ‘Celebration’ world tour earlier this month in London, has never performed at the event on Worthy Farm near Somerset, south-west England and sources say her team are planning what would be one of its biggest-ever performances.

A music insider told The Sun: “Negotiations are well underway between Glasto organiser Emily Eavis and Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary.

“Both teams are keen to make it happen and striking a deal shouldn’t be a problem.

“Emily was blown away watching Madonna perform in London and is desperate to get her on the Pyramid Stage next year.”

Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ shows in London were sold out, and after watching one of her dates at London’s O2 Arena, Emily, 44, said on social media: “She’s back! Incredible.”

Madonna’s headline appearance would be a blow to those who criticised Emily for filling this year’s Glastonbury line-up with male acts, including Sir Elton John, the Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses.

She defended the bill by saying: “We did have a female headliner, and she unfortunately had to pull out… it changes all the time.

“But next year it’s looking like we’ve got two female headliners, so fingers crossed.”

The Sun reported Taylor Swift, 33, was the female act who pulled out of the festival.

Glastonbury 2024 is set to take place from 26 to 30 June, with tickets going on sale next month.

Madonna – who was forced to delay her new world tour after being hospitalised in the summer with a “serious bacterial infection” – is set to wrap up her 78-show tour next April, which would leave plenty of time for her to rest and prepare for a slot on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
