‘He told me he was a big fan of my records…’ Joel Corry says Ed Sheeran is his dream collaborator

Joel Corry has set his sights set on a collaboration with Ed Sheeran.

Since turning to music, the former ‘Geordie Shore’ star, 34, has had a string of massive hits such as ‘Lonely’ and ‘Head and Heart’ and worked with artists like RAYE, Charli XCX and David Guetta.

Joel is dreaming of recording a single with pop megastar Ed, 32, and is hopeful it could happen after the ‘Tenerife Sea’ singer told him that he is a “big fan” of his songs.

During an interview with Wonderland the DJ was asked which artist he’d most want to work with, to which he replied: “Ed Sheeran. Everyone knows I’m a huge Ed Sheeran fan. I hung out with him after the MTV EMAS a few years ago and got to know him a bit more.

“He told me he was a big fan of my records, which I couldn’t believe. I also remixed his smash hit ‘Bad Habits’. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll get in the studio together!”

Corry released his debut album ‘Another Friday Night’ on October 6, which boasts a vast array of guest artists, including Rita Ora, Becky Hill, MNEK, Saweetie and JHart, and he is “super proud” to finally have the LP out.

He said: “The album feels nostalgic with early records like ‘Sorry’ and ‘Lonely’, but fresh with tracks like ‘0800 HEAVEN’ and ‘Hey DJ’, too. I’m super proud of the album and hope everyone loves it!

“I’ve been lucky to collaborate with so many amazing talented artists over the years. One that stands out is MNEK.

We achieved incredible things together with ‘Head and Heart’, and he’s also written on many of my other records. Collaborating with David Guetta was a big moment for me too, as he is one of my idols and now has become a good friend. I also loved working with Tom Grennan, we had so much fun together on the campaign for our single, ‘Lionheart’.”
