George Baggs’ singleton song

George Baggs has released a Christmas single to highlight the sleep struggle singletons face over the festive season.

The ‘Gogglebox’ favourite has worked on a tongue-in-cheek version of classic carol ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’, which describes the familiar situation where single members of the family are often last in line when it comes to bedroom allocation when getting together for big occasions.

George has teamed up with Premier Inn for the track after the UK’s biggest hotel company found one in three people will be asked to give up their bedroom for visiting relatives this Christmas, with singletons more likely to be asked to move.

For those visiting relatives, almost half (48%) have slept somewhere other than a bed, with the sofa, blow-up bed or even the floor most common.

But Premier Inn want to make life easier by giving fans the chance to win their luxury bedding for this year’s festive family sleepover.

To be in with a chance of receiving a Premier Inn bedding bundle , all you need to do is email pictures of your bad bed from previous years to [email protected], and 50 will be picked to receive Premier Inn’s luxurious bedding, including a set of two pillows, and their famously comfortable double duvet.

A Premier Inn spokesperson said: “It’s no surprise that With Christmas and Hanukkah on the horizon, many homes will be joyfully packed to the rafters with visiting relatives. What our research makes clear however, is that it’s single people who are asked more often than most to give up their beds.

“When we found out that the solo travellers were drawing the short straw, we simply had to do something to make sure they’re able to rest easy this Christmas, and we hope our bedding helps turn those restless nights, to silent nights – or of course, there’s always room in the Premier Inn

“We’ve loved working with George to help spread the word – single people, this one’s for you! Who knows – could this be the new Christmas number one?”

The giveaway will be open for submissions until Tuesday (13.12.22).
