Peter Phillips has launched a coronavirus testing company.
The 42-year-old entrepreneur – who is Queen Elizabeth’s eldest grandchild – is one of three founding directors of XF Medical Limited, which is based in Chelsea, West London, and aims to meet the demand for quick and accurate screening for the virus.
A spokesperson for Peter confirmed the company is already “involved in discussions with a number of corporate entities and organisations” but declined to give details.
The representative explained to the Daily Mail newspaper’s Sebastian Shakespeare: “Any current or future contracts for Covid-19 testing are commercially sensitive and are under [non-disclosure] agreements.”
According to the firm’s website, they offer “full results ready within 15 minutes” after former Forces medical personnel carry out a “quick and easy finger prick test”.
The tests are carried out in mobile units, which the website says can “come to your office, event or place of work.”
In February, Peter – whose parents are Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips – split from his wife Autumn and the pair pledged to continue co-parenting their daughters, Savannah, nine, and Isla, eight, together.
A spokesperson said at the time: “They had reached the conclusion that this was the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship.
“The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and, although sad, is an amicable one.
“The couple’s first priority will remain the continued well-being and upbringing of their wonderful daughters, Savannah and Isla.
“Both families were naturally sad at the announcement, but fully supportive of Peter and Autumn in the joint decision to co parent their children.”
The representative also seemingly dismissed speculation Autumn was planning to move back to her native Canada following the break-up.
They said: “Both Peter and Autumn have remained in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years.”
