Max Bowden’s grandfather dies

Max Bowden’s grandfather has died.

The ‘EastEnders’ actor took to Instagram to reveal the tragic news that his granddad has passed away from cancer, and he is hoping to raise some money for Macmillan Cancer nurses after they gave his relative "amazing love and care" prior to his death.

He wrote on Instagram: "Hi all. On Monday evening I lost my grandad to his battle with cancer. In his last weeks he was overwhelmed by the amazing love and care the @macmillancancer nurses provided him with. For that reason I am reposting my longest day challenge website in the hope of raising more money for them. Please give generously if you can. Thank you. The website is https://longestdaygolf.macmillan.org.uk/Team/raysgeese (sic)"

Since sharing his Longest Day Golf Challenge page again, the 25-year-old actor – who portrays Ben Mitchell on the BBC One soap – has been inundated with further donations to Macmillan Cancer Support, taking his total raised to more than £6,300.

Max’s co-star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha (Ash Panesar) is among those who have donated, and she congratulated him on raising money for the cause.

She wrote: "So sorry to hear of your loss Max. Made a little donation to the link in bio.. Well done for raising so much money for such an amazing cause. Sending you lots of love and strength (sic)"

Several other ‘EastEnders’ stars sent their well wishes to Max and his family.

Danielle Harold (Lola Pearce) wrote: "Sending lots of love"

Rukku Nahar (Habiba Ahmed) shared: "Sorry to hear this Max. sending my love xx (sic)"
