Britain’s Got Talent hit with Ofcom complaints over Amanda Holden’s dress

‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has been hit with more than 200 Ofcom complaints over Amanda Holden’s low-cut dress.

Ofcom received more than 24,500 complaints – the most in a decade – over Diversity’s Black Lives Matter dance on the ITV talent show this month, and a further 1,900 over judge Alesha Dixon wearing a BLM necklace, and now more than 200 people have moaned about panellist Amanda’s latest outfit.

Amanda wore a low-cut blue number on last weekend’s show, but 277 people complained to the communications regulator about the episode, with 235 relating to the 49-year-old star’s outfit, according to The Sun Online.

Following complaints about Alesha’s jewellery, a spokesperson for Ofcom said: "We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate."

But earlier this month, Ofcom confirmed they will not be investigating Diversity’s powerful ‘BGT’ performance, in which the dance troupe narrated the death of George Floyd, among other recent events.

Ofcom said in a statement: "We carefully considered a large number of complaints about this artistic routine, an area where freedom of expression is particularly important.

"Diversity’s performance referred to challenging and potentially controversial subjects, and in our view, its central message was a call for social cohesion and unity.

"Any depictions of violence by the performers were highly stylised and symbolic of recent global events, and there was no explicit reference to any particular political organisation – but rather a message that the lives of black people matter.

"We will not be taking this case on to formal investigation."
