The Wall returning in October

‘The Wall’ is returning for a second series next month.

The Danny Dyer-fronted game show, which he describes as the "ultimate game of risk and reward", will be back on BBC One on October 3rd for another season of "colossal wins and heart-breaking losses".

In a new-look trailer, the ‘EastEnders’ actor said: "You know that saying, ‘If walls could talk?’

"Well, if this wall could talk, what would it say? It would say, ‘Strap yourself in for the ride of your life.’

"But it would also say, ‘Don’t ever think you’re in control.’

"Because fate can go either way, do you know what I mean?

"The ultimate game of risk and reward returns."

TV legend Angela Rippon is also back to voice the questions on the game show.

The show’s first series aired on the BBC in October last year, and Danny admitted at the time the programme was a "nice" break from portraying "dark"’ EastEnders’ scenes as his character Mick Carter.

He said: "It’s been quite difficult actually because there’s a lot of anxiety around the idea of being a game show host because, what is that? What does it mean?

"I’ve enjoyed it though; I’ve enjoyed it more than I thought I would. So it’s been quite a leap from Walford because Walford/ ‘EastEnders’, it’s all quite serious and it can be quite dark.

"Whereas this is a light-hearted world, the game show world, so it’s been quite nice actually to have a little break and do something different."

‘The Wall’ returns on Saturday 3rd October at 9:15pm on BBC One.
