Hollyoaks’ Imran Adams and Ross Adams among Inside Soap Awards longlist nods

Hollyoaks’ Mitchell Deveraux proposing to Scott Drinkwell, and Tiffany and Keegan Butcher-Baker’s wedding are among the longlist nominees for the Inside Soap Awards’ brand-new Feel-Good Moment category.

The romantic moment on the Channel 4 soap between Imran Adams and Ross Adams’ characters, and Maisie Smith and Zack Morris’ ‘EastEnders’ characters tying the knot have made the initial list of potential winners of the inaugural accolade, which will be awarded at a virtual ceremony – due to the coronavirus pandemic – on November 16th.

Other nods in the new category include Coronation Street’s Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) giving birth to quads, and Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) giving birth to baby Eve.

Imran – who is departing ‘Oaks’ – could also be up for the Best Actor award if he makes the shortlist. He is part of a longlist which includes his co-star Nick Pickard (Tony Hutchinson), ‘Emmerdale’ actors Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) and Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle), as well as Ian Bartholomew, who plays evil ‘Corrie’ character Geoff Metcalfe.

Geoff has been tormenting his wife Yasmeen Metcalfe for months and months, and Shelley King – who plays the domestic abuse victim – is up for Best Actress.

In ‘EastEnders’, Jessica Plummer’s character Chantelle Atkins is also a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, and the actress is part of the longlist for the prestigious award, alongside her co-stars Shona McGarty (Whitney Dean) and Kellie Bright (Linda Carter).

Other prizes up for grabs on the night include Best Show-Stopper.

Potential shortlist nominees for the accolade include Yasmeen fighting back against evil Geoff in ‘Corrie’, Linda’s dramatic drunken antics over the new year in ‘EastEnders’, the tunnel collapse in ‘Hollyoaks’, and Emmerdale’s special lockdown episodes.
