Alesha Dixon ‘could quit Britain’s Got Talent’

Alesha Dixon could reportedly quit ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ if ITV apologises for Diversity’s Black Lives Matter-inspired dance.

The 41-year-old star is apparently willing to walk away from the hit show if the broadcaster responds to thousands of Ofcom complaints by issuing an apology.

A TV source said: "Alesha is absolutely furious and doesn’t think anyone should be apologising for anything."

Ashley Banjo, Diversity’s choreographer, has already said that the routine was intended to "express how the events of this year have made us feel".

ITV has reportedly contemplated offering an apology to viewers who were offended by the dance, but not for airing the routine.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday newspaper, the insider added: "Ashley is in a complete state over all of this and it has knocked his confidence. Alesha has spent the week supporting him and building him back up.

"She is very sad about it all but staunchly stands by the dance. It is something she feels incredibly passionate about so if ITV were to say sorry, it would be understandably hard for her to continue."

The broadcaster has previously praised the dance routine, saying it helped to open up "important topics of conversation".

Meanwhile, Ashley has defended Diversity’s performance on social media.

He wrote on Instagram: "I’m so grateful and overwhelmed by all of the love and support but also by the amount of conversation this performance has thrown up [praying emoji] 2020 has been such a historical year. One day we will look back and realise it was the start of real change…

"Sending out nothing but love and positivity to everyone reading this post [love heart emoji]
