Vinnie Jones wants to present wildlife show

Vinnie Jones wants to make a wildlife show.

The 55-year-old star – who is known for hard man roles in the likes of ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Mean Machine’ – has revealed he would love to change direction and focus on educating children about nature.

Appearing on ‘The Chris Moyles Show’ on Radio X on Monday (07.09.20), he said: "I’m out early Moylesy, I’m out at, you know, 5:30am in the morning and I get out there and I see what animals are around, and the countryside and the wildlife.

"As you know, I’m big into conservation and wildlife. I’m trying to get a TV show, actually, going about wildlife. I’d love to do that.

"You know, explaining to the young kids about the streams and the rivers and the fields and the flowers and the trees of Britain."

Meanwhile, Vinnie’s episode of ‘Piers Morgan’s Life Stories’ aired on Saturday night (05.09.20) as he opened up about the death of his wife Tanya in July 2019 after her six year battle with cancer.

The retired footballer has since revealed his former Leeds United manager Howard Wilkinson got in touch after the emotional interview was broadcast.

Vinnie explained: "Do you know what, how about this, and it really shook me. We watched the show on Saturday night, and it was about 11:05pm and Howard Wilkinson texted me.

"Yeah, it was unbelievable. He sent me this text and I was like ‘wow’. Because out of respect I still call him the gaffer.

"And he kind of, I don’t know where he don’t like it or if he just things… Here, I’m going to read it to you, it’s pretty cool: ‘Vin, just watched your interview with Piers Morgan. Total respect young man. Life is not about the mistakes you make it’s about how you deal with them, learn and grow.

"’You always had balls, now people can see you always had brains. More importantly, a heart. Life is not about where we start, it’s about where we finish. Onwards and upwards my man.

"’One request – please stop calling me the gaffer. Yours sincerely, Howard Wilkinson.’ "

Vinnie revealed plenty of his friends – including the likes of Ray Winstone – have been in touch.

He added: "All the boys have been texting and it’s really special and it’s kind of cemented what, you know we lasted the test of time me and Tansy.

"I don’t think, at any of my football clubs – I would be hard pushed for any of them to still be married – you know, that’s a tough one."
