Vicky Pattison ‘had no clue’ about Geordie Shore’s impact

Vicky Pattison "had no clue" what she was getting herself into when she joined ‘Geordie Shore’.

The 32-year-old star shot to fame on the MTV reality series, but Vicky has admitted to being unprepared for what she was getting herself into.

She shared: "When ‘Geordie Shore’ first burst onto the screens, and that is literally the only way to describe the way we started, it was all a fairly new concept.

"’The Only Way Is Essex’ and ‘Made in Chelsea’ had just started, but they were very different. It was very constructed, it was loosely reality.

"Whereas ‘Geordie Shore’ was just 110 percent unregulated, mad reality … I just didn’t really know what I was getting into.

"Like, there wasn’t really a point of reference. There was ‘Jersey Shore’, but you never know what is involved in making something like that: how much is real, how much was orchestrated."

Vicky was stuck in a "bit of a rut" when she joined the show. However, the brunette beauty didn’t realise that she was set to become a nation-wide star.

Speaking on new podcast ‘The Reality of Reality TV with Fleur East’, Vicky explained: "I was 22, fresh out of uni, had all these high hopes for my life, and had just got myself into a little bit of a rut. I was working in bars and nightclubs, was going out with rubbish men and living back with my mum.

"I didn’t expect my life to be like that. So, when they started casting for ‘Geordie Shore’ … I know I wanted something else; I knew I wanted more. And I had no clue what I was letting myself in for."
