Laura Norton pregnant

Laura Norton and Mark Jordon are expecting their first child together.

The ‘Emmerdale’ actress and her former co-star – who has children Joseph, 22, and Poppy, 19, with his ex Siobhan Finneran – were "over the moon" to find out Laura is pregnant.

The 37-year-old star – who portrays Kerry Wyatt on the ITV soap – told OK! magazine: "I had tears in my eyes, we’re over the moon."

Mark, 55 – who played Daz Spencer – admitted he had a gut feeling that he and his fiancee might be expecting before he set eyes on the pregnancy test.

He said: "In my heart I knew before looking at the test.

"We both looked at the result and there was so much joy, but for a weird moment we were both deadly silent."

The pair’s new arrival is due on Mark’s birthday – January 25th – but the pair aren’t in a hurry to find out their baby’s gender.

Laura said: "It’s something I’ve always hoped would happen. I hope my instincts kick in.

"I feel very calm and safe knowing that I’ve seen what an amazing father Mark and how brilliant his kids are."

Mark and Laura revealed in January 2019 that they were engaged and had kept their engagement a secret for seven months.

In a post on January 2nd, 2019, Mark tweeted: "Well 2018 had some of the highest highs and the lowest lows. Really got to feel the love of true friends . Feel blessed by the support of my children and elated to have heard the word "yes " from the most beautiful woman in the world (sic)"

Laura then confirmed he popped the question in summer 2018.

In response to a congratulatory tweet from actors’ management agency Winterson’s, Laura wrote: "I mean …. it was 7 months ago … but … you’re very cute. Thank you (sic)"
