Kellie Bright reveals her fears for Linda Carter

‘EastEnders’ star Kellie Bright fears for Linda Carter’s future.

The 44-year-old actress – who has played Linda since 2013 – has revealed she fears Linda’s drink issues will resurface in the coming months.

Discussing what the future holds for Linda, Kellie told ‘EastEnders: Secrets from the Square’: "Hopefully [she’s] not drinking! I wonder what’s going to become of our Linda. I do worry!"

Linda has previously battled alcoholism, and the storyline played a central part in the soap’s Christmas and New Year episodes in 2019.

Kellie and ‘EastEnders’ bosses also worked with Drinkaware – which offers alcohol advice and information – to help develop the storyline.

Meanwhile, Kellie previously insisted she no longer cares about what other people think of her.

The actress is also proud that she hasn’t turned to surgery in order to boost her career.

She said: "Everyone has their own journey and they can do what they want, but I would like to see more women being celebrated for however they are at whatever age they are.

"I would love to see more women in their 40s and 50s who haven’t gone down that [surgery] road, showing younger women that it’s OK to have lines on your face and to enjoy having those lines – they are a part of you and your story and how you got to this point.

"You’re only fighting a losing battle if you don’t embrace your ageing face. Where do you stop?

"What are you going to do when you are 60 or 70? I feel like we have got into this state, fuelled by social media, where people have formed their faces into masks that are completely smooth and don’t move.

"There’s no expression there. I don’t understand it. Come on, it’s all right to have a frown line!"
