Dayle Hudson picked up EastEnders kissing tips from The Graham Norton Show

Dayle Hudson picked up tips from ‘The Graham Norton Show’ for his first-ever ‘EastEnders’ kiss.

The Walford newcomer – who was working as a bricklayer when he found out he had landed the part of Peter Beale on the BBC One soap – asked his co-star Danielle Harold (Lola Pearce) what to do, and he also discovered he wouldn’t need to use his tongue during smooching scenes while watching the chat show.

He said: "Before my first kissing scene with Danielle Harold, I was like, ‘I’ve never done this on telly before, can you baby-step me into it?

"I learnt from watching an interview on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ that you shouldn’t use tongues, but other than that I had no idea what I was doing.

"Anyway, we had a big laugh. I rang Danielle afterwards to say she made it so much easier for me."

As well as having a helping hand from Danielle during his first few weeks on the show, Dayle is also grateful that his on-screen dad Adam Woodyatt took time out to show him around the set and tell him about the Beale family.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he added: "Adam Woodyatt, who plays my dad, Ian, was the first person I met – and I was completely star-struck.

"I was speaking to our casting director, Julia, and she said, ‘I’m going to call Adam up to say hello.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, no you’re not.’ Five minutes later, there he was.

"It was really nice, as Adam had finished filming early that day, but stayed on for a few hours just to give me a tour, speak to me about the Beale family, and to give me advice.

"It was amazing how he went out of his way to spend so much time with me, and it definitely helped with my first couple of weeks on the show."
