Great British Bake Off hosts isolating together

‘The Great British Bake Off’ stars are reportedly isolating together.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, along with hosts Noel Fielding, and newcomer Matt Lucas are said to be living together to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus when they return to filming the latest series of the Channel 4 baking competition.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Covid-19 has hit the entire TV industry hard, so Channel 4 and Love Productions, who make the show, are doing their utmost to make sure it gets on air without any risk."

At 80 years old, producers are worried about the safety of judge Prue who is most vulnerable to contracting the deadly virus.

It comes after bosses were unsure if they would be able to air a new series this year after production was halted, but it will now go ahead with a number of precautions being taken.

Sky Studios chief commercial officer Jane Millichip previously teased: "It’s all happening in deep secret, somewhere in darkest deepest Britain in the shires. You will have your Victoria sponge this year."

Last month, ‘Bake Off’ bosses were "working hard" to ensure this year’s series would take place.

A spokesperson said at the time: "We are working hard to deliver ‘Bake Off’ to the audience this year, the priority is the safety of everyone involved in the production of the series."

Just days later, it was reported ‘Bake Off’ was due to resume filming this month.

An insider said: "If one person goes down with coronavirus, then everyone on set has to quarantine, the whole production is thrown into jeopardy and it’s a massive risk for small companies to take.

"We are hoping that the government and big broadcasters will step up and carry some of that risk. We can’t physically do it without insurance."
