Eddie Large ‘left £44,100 in his will’

Eddie Large reportedly left £44,100 in his will.

The comedy star – who passed away in April at the age of 78, after contracting coronavirus – left his entire estate to his second wife Patsy, according to The Sun newspaper.

Eddie was a household name in the 70s and 80s, when he appeared on TV alongside his long-time comedy partner Syd Little.

However, the comedian suffered a series of health issues in the years before his death, including having a heart transplant 17 years ago.

Eddie initially entered hospital earlier this year because of an infection, but he died alone after contracting coronavirus.

At the time of his death, family and friends of the comedian were banned from visiting him at Southmead Hospital in Bristol amid efforts to stop the spread of the disease.

In April, Patsy admitted to being devastated after she was stopped from seeing her husband before he passed away.

She shared: "I was saying ‘please … please’, but they said they couldn’t let anyone in. It broke my heart that I couldn’t be with him those last days."

Patsy also revealed that Syd – who formed one-half of Little and Large – was "heartbroken" by the passing of his comedy partner.

She said: "Syd is heartbroken.

"He and Eddie were teenage friends and worked together from 1963."

Patsy spoke to her husband on the phone hours before he passed away.

She recalled: "The last words I said to him were, ‘Darling, I love you, we all miss you so much and really want you to be able to come home’.

"He wasn’t feeling good and said ‘I’m going to have to go, darling’. Then he said ‘I love you’, put the phone down and that was it. At 4 am the hospital rang to tell us he had passed away."
