Jordan Benjo and Perri Kiely’s radio show halts Diversity plans

Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely’s new radio show means they’ve missed out on Diversity’s summer shows.

The two friends will start hosting the ‘KISS Breakfast Show’ from Monday (03.08.20), and the commute to the studio means they haven’t been able to join the rest of the dance troupe in their "bubble" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Jordan exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "At the moment, the boys are all on a summer run of shows, which is really good.

"They formed a bubble, so everyone was tested and that’s wicked. But obviously me and Perri starting the show, we’re not a part of the summer shows.

"So that’s a weird one, I won’t lie – chatting to the boys and hearing how rehearsals are going and seeing footage, it’s a bit like… well, this is a weird thing to be on the outside of for once!"

Despite the unusual situation, the pair – who won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ as part of the group in 2009 – are grateful for the chance to be working side by side on the new project.

Perri added: "Me and Jord are literally the best of friends. Everything in life, we tackle together. If I’m chilling outside or we’re training or we’re working, everything is with Jord.

"To be in this situation, it genuinely becomes super easy and I think that’s why we love it so much. We come to the studio, we listen to the music that we love, we make jokes, we just chat. It’s normal every day but we get to share that with everyone else."

And although the two pals are delighted to be fronting the early morning show, they are excited to join back up with the rest of Diversity when it’s safe to do so.

Jordan said: "I think the weirdest thing was being in lockdown almost craving getting back in the studio with the boys and then it finally gets eased a little bit and we’re not doing it!

"That feels a bit odd. Everyone’s working hard, we’re cracking on with the show and they’re out performing, which we wish we were as well. We can’t wait to all just be in the same show together. Next year, hopefully."

Listen to the all-new KISS Breakfast Show with Jordan and Perri, kicking off Monday 3rd August from 6am – kissfmuk.com
