‘I’m too old, too fat and too slow’: James Jordan rules out Strictly return

James Jordan says he is "too fat" for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The professional dancer and his wife Ola, 37, left the show in 2014 and 2015 respectively and James, 42, has ruled out a return saying he believes he is "too old".

He told The Sun newspaper: "No, not now. I’m too old, too fat and too slow. Let the young ones do it. I like watching them."

James also praised the BBC for working to put on the show this year, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and he believes ratings will actually increase due to so many people being stuck at home.

He said: "It’s their flagship show and if people are allowed to go in pubs and shops, why can’t ‘Strictly’ come back?

"That’s as long as they make it safe, which I’m sure they’ll find a way to do.

"It’s such a great show to be on. For anyone who is considering doing Strictly, I don’t think they would say no this year just because it will be different to usual.

"More people are sitting at home because of what’s been going on so I think the ratings will actually go up."

Meanwhile, James and Ola welcomed their first child – daughter Ella – together in February and James admitted the birth of his daughter has "totally changed" the way he sees the world.

He previously said: "It is all the more special because it’s something we never thought would happen.

"Our trophies and accolades fade into the background. This is the best moment of our lives, without a shadow of a doubt.

"Ola has given me the most precious gift. It’s totally changed the way I see the world."
