Tina O’Brien felt like a Bond girl during Coronation Street scene

Tina O’Brien felt like a "post-COVID Bond Girl" while shooting Sarah Platt and Gary Windass’ big car accident scene.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actress has revealed she threw herself wholeheartedly into the dramatic scene, which was filmed amid social distancing measures.

Tina, 36 – whose character rushes into the path of an oncoming vehicle after running away from her ex – said: "I even ended with a scrape down my arm when I threw myself onto a mat, I really thought I was in some sort of action film and got carried away like a post-COVID Bond Girl!

"The stunt double guy was just insane, he threw himself off that car. They are just so hard!"

‘Coronation Street’ bosses also used a mannequin to help shoot the scene.

And Tina admitted that the dummy was initially quite different to her real-life self.

She told Digital Spy: "Originally, the mannequin wasn’t as heightly-challenged as me!

"The mannequin was taller – and slimmer – than me – but COVID’s been cruel and she hasn’t had to go through getting food in the house for three months eating everything!

"So she was about a foot taller and three stone lighter, so they chopped her feet off with a saw. My husband said maybe I should have taken her home as she’d be a lot less aggro than me!"

Tina also admitted she’s not yet watched the final edit of the scene.

She said: "It was interesting as she was dressed up the same with a wig and that was obviously done because of distancing problems.

"Mikey had to push me, but we can’t have contact so we used a mannequin. I’ve not seen what it looks like when edited together so I’m just hoping it’s not like, there’s Tina and there’s a mannequin!"
