BBC announces mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice

The BBC has announced a new mystery music game show.

Prime time programme ‘I Can See Your Voice’ will feature teams of two players looking to win a cash prize by guessing who can and can’t sing from a group of performers standing in front of them.

In a big twist, the contestants – who will be guided by a celebrity panel including a different guest singer each week – have to make their prediction without hearing a note.

The performers will have to lip sync their way through challenges, while offering hidden clues to the celebrity experts.

The players have to whittle down the group until there’s one singer left, who will then perform with the guest star to reveal whether they can or can’t sing.

If the contestants picked a winner they can take home the prize, but the impostor will get the money if it turns out they can’t hold a note.

Charlotte Moore – Director of BBC Content – said: "This addictive, fun and immersive new entertainment series will offer BBC One viewers jaw-dropping reveals and gives the whole family a chance to get involved in this compelling new guessing game."

Kate Phillips – Controller Entertainment Commissioning for the BBC – commented: "’I Can See Your Voice’ is a riot, a funny and captivating show with so many incredible moments within a carousel of reveals. It’s addictive viewing."

And Amelia Brown – Managing Director for Thames – added: "’I Can See Your Voice’ is the ultimate play-along game the whole family can take part in.

"It’s fun, comical and full of heart and we can’t wait to get stuck in and work with the BBC to bring this successful format to the UK."

The first series – made up of eight hour long episodes – will hit BBC One in 2021.
