Letitia Dean to star in landladies special of EastEnders Secrets from the Square

Letitia Dean and Kellie Bright are to star in a landladies special of ‘EastEnders: Secrets from the Square’.

The ‘EastEnders’ actresses – who play Sharon Mitchell and Linda Carter respectively – will appear alongside host Stacey Dooley to look at some of the legendary Queen Vic landladies who came before them, such as Dame Barbara Windsor’s character Peggy Mitchell, and Letitia’s on-screen mother Angie Watts (Anita Dobson).

Stacey said: "We’re talking all things landladies. Letitia Dean and Kellie Bright together – they are just a scream, they are really good fun.

"I had the most brilliant afternoon with the pair of them."

The pair will also explore their own characters’ ups and downs, and what is to come after Linda and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) sold the Vic back to Sharon, under the nose of her estranged husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in the final ‘EastEnders’ episode before the soap went off air last month. The show ran out of episodes during the lockdown, but will return later this year.

‘EastEnders’ stars resumed filming on the soap this week to shoot new episodes, and Letitia recently admitted she is looking forward to taking on the "challenge" of filming during the coronavirus pandemic.

She said: "It’s going to be a different way of working.

"I try and think of it as a positive, though, and as a challenge. It’s something new, and sometimes it’s good to work outside of your normal box, if you like, so I’m looking forward to it.

"I’m sure everyone’s going to be a bit anxious as, once you take your foot off the pedal you question everything.

"Even when you come back from holiday you think, ‘Ooh, can I still do it?’

"But we have some fabulous new scripts, so that’s exciting."
