Len Goodman could miss Dancing With The Stars due to pandemic

Len Goodman says the coronavirus pandemic could stop him from returning to his judging position on ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge has been on the US version of the show for over a decade, but he may have to miss the next series as he is unable to fly Stateside for the time being.

He said: "I like going over there because it’s 10 weeks of being in the sun and I only work one day a week. But of course there’s this lockdown thing at the moment with only Americans being able to fly in to America or if you’ve got a green card. I haven’t got either of those so who knows. It might all come good but if it doesn’t, it doesn’t."

However, whatever happens, the 76-year-old television personality is grateful for his time on both shows so far.

He is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: "I’ve had a wonderful time, 12 years with ‘Strictly’ and I’ve had 12 years with ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and both have been great."

Len previously insisted he is still "getting out and doing things", despite current government advice.

With over 70s advised to should stay indoors to minimise the risk of contracting the disease, the former dancer revealed he had still been for a "nice walk" and had contact with his family, but admitted he’s not entirely "clear" on what the guidance means.

He said: "I’m probably not clear [on what to do]. However, I’ve made it clear in my own mind and I’m not gonna go down pubs, I’m not gonna go anywhere where there’s gangs of people. I had a nice walk out in the garden, over the weekend I met my son and his wife and my grandchildren in a park, we kept a safe distance. I don’t mean 100 yards away but we had a little chat, I didn’t kiss and cuddle anyone. I got myself out and about in a safe way as far as I’m concerned."
