Kym Marsh fronting consumer affairs show for BBC Daytime

Kym Marsh is to front BBC Daytime show ‘Your Money and Your Life’.

The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress will join Matt Allwright as a presenter on the upcoming consumer affairs series offering advice and guidance to viewers during the coronavirus pandemic.

The programme – which launches on June 15 and will air live every weekday from ‘The One Show’ studio – promises to be a "one-stop shop" for questions on holidays, work, health and home.

Kym said: "The last couple of months of lockdown has presented challenges for families across the country, often unsure of where to turn for advice.

"I’m looking forward to starting this new series with Matt, to help tackle some of the problems people are facing, reassuring viewers with top tips and advice from some of the nation’s leading consumer experts."

Kym and her co-star will be joined by the UK’s top consumer experts throughout each hour-long episode during the three-week run, while everyone will follow strict social distancing rules both on and off screen.

Matt is thrilled to be part of the team, and he hopes the new show can help "steer" people through the next few weeks.

He added: "I can’t wait to get started on this new show. People’s lives have been turned upside down, and I hope that Kym and I can be part of the process of helping to get them back into some order.

"People have a lot of challenges on their hands right now. We want them to know that we’re on their side, and we’ll do our best to steer them through whatever the next few weeks hold."

And Carla-Maria Lawson, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak, commented: "Many of our viewers have been thrown a curve ball by lockdown, impacting on almost every aspect of their lives.

"This new series will address the everyday concerns and frustrations people are facing whilst also offering trustworthy advice from our crack team of consumer experts."

‘Your Money and Your Life’ will air each weekday at 10am on BBC One for three weeks from Monday, June 15.
