Sally Dynevor ‘excited’ to start filming Coronation Street

‘Coronation Street’ star Sally Dynevor is "excited" to go back to work next week.

ITV has confirmed the cast will be returning to work on June 9, after an enforced production break due to the coronavirus pandemic, and though the 57-year-old soap star thinks it’s strange after months off, she can’t wait to be back on set.

Appearing on ‘This Morning’, she said: "We’re back next week, and it’s very strange.

"We all finished at the end of March, so now getting the scripts you have to read back to see where you were. Of course our hair has grown and make-up are going to have a real time with it.

"But we’re all really excited about getting back to work and I’m really looking forward to getting back."

‘This Morning’s Phillip Schofield pointed out that the soap stars might not be able to have artists do their make-up as he and co-host Holly Willoughby have been getting themselves ready for the ITV daytime show due to social distancing rules.

Sally replied: "I know, we have to do our own, which is really funny because I’m rubbish at make-up."

Meanwhile, Sally revealed she’s been spending her time trying to keep people entertained amid the lockdown.

Asked what her lockdown has been like, she said: "I’ve been really busy doing some interesting things.

"So a theatre company got in touch with me and said would I like – with a lot of other actors and writers who’ve come together – to bring people who are isolated and read a play to them.

"I read a play to a lovely lady in east London called Bridget. It’s been a really lovely thing to do.

"It’s like a monologue, it’s not me swapping characters. It’s wonderful, it gets you connected and it keeps people who won’t have access to the internet to see plays. And just to get to talk to somebody really."
