Mark Charnock praises Emmerdale team’s ‘jaw-dropping’ safety

Mark Charnock has praised the ‘Emmerdale’ team for doing a "jaw-dropping job of keeping everyone safe" after filming resumed on the soap.

The 51-year-old actor – who has played Marlon Dingle on the ITV soap since 1996 – is one of several stars who have started filming special new episodes featuring Dales characters in lockdown.

He wrote on Twitter: "Loved being back filming a fantastic @Emmerdale episode yesterday with #michaelwildman @aaron_ants & the best crew in the world.Hats off to mighty director @ianbevitt for his brilliance. The team’s done a truly jaw-dropping job of keeping everyone safe.Blimey,but I’ve missed it! (sic)"

Nick Miles (Jimmy King) has also resumed filming on the soap, and he feels it is a "great privilege" to be able to shoot one of the lockdown eps.

He wrote: "I feel like a kid who believes in Santa the day before Christmas. Getting back to #Emmerdale to shoot one of the lockdown specials is a great privilege. (sic)"

Last week, ‘Emmerdale’ confirmed the soap had resumed filming with six new episodes featuring characters in lockdown.

The eps focus on Cain and Aaron (Jeff Hordley and Danny Miller), Chas and Paddy (Lucy Pargeter and Dominic Brunt), Sam and Lydia (James Hooton and Karen Blick), Marlon, Al and Ellis (Mark, Michael Wildman and Aaron Anthony), Mandy and Vinny (Lisa Riley and Bradley Johnson), and Jimmy and Nicola (Nick and Nicola Wheeler).

ITV teased the episodes will see "resentments and past feuds resurface, old wounds further exposed, relationships scrutinised, with doubts and insecurities laid bare", with a hint of romance.
