Alison Steadman: ‘I’d run to Cardiff to film more Gavin and Stacey’

Alison Steadman "would run to Cardiff" to film another series of ‘Gavin and Stacey’.

The 73-year-old actress reprised her role as Pam Shipman for the show’s 2019 Christmas special and although there are no plans for more episodes right now, Alison says she would jump at the chance to work on the show again.

Speaking to Radio Times, she said: "I don’t take any notice of rumours .But there’s no way I wouldn’t do it. I’d run to Cardiff to be involved."

Speaking about the huge success of the festive special, she added: "All these years I’ve been watching telly on Christmas Day, and there I was in the highlight of the evening. I felt very proud."

Meanwhile, Alison is hosting a virtual ‘Gavin and Stacey’ quiz this Thursday (21.05.20) and she will be joined by Mathew Horne who plays her on-screen son Gavin in the show.

The pair are working to raise funds for the charity Marie Curie but Alison admitted she is a little nervous.

Speaking on ‘This Morning’ earlier this week to promote the quiz, she explained: "I’m a little bit apprehensive.

"But I want to do it because it’s a great way of raising money for Marie Curie.

"Marie Curie are desperate for some funds in this awful time we are living in. Charities are losing money.

"Marie Curie needs to make £2.5 million a week to keep nine hospices going and keep their amazing nurses and staff going."
