Danny Dyer rubbishes Love Island

Danny Dyer thinks ‘Love Island’ is a "pile of s**t".
The 42-year-old actor rubbished the ITV dating show during his appearance on Romesh Ranganathan’s ‘The Ranganation’, even though his own daughter Dani won the competition in 2018 alongside her then-boyfriend, Jack Fincham.
After admitting he was worried about his daughter getting intimate with a guy on the programme, Danny added: "Yeah, also, the show’s a pile of s**t, ‘Love Island’. So that was the other thing I was worried about."
What’s more, Danny admitted he wasn’t sure about Netflix’s ‘Too Hot to Handle’, which doesn’t allow contestants to kiss or engage in coitus until they’ve built a meaningful relationship.
The actor reflected: "I can see what they’re trying to do. Sort of trying to do all this spiritual connection stuff – but I would have thought you need quite intelligent people on the show to have some sort of spiritual connection."
Meanwhile, this summer’s ‘Love Island’ series was recently cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television, explained that the show was scrapped because the broadcaster couldn’t guarantee the safety of the contestants.
He said: "We have tried every which way to make ‘Love Island’ this summer but logistically it’s just not possible to produce it in a way that safeguards the well-being of everyone involved and that for us is the priority.
"In normal circumstances we would be preparing very soon to travel out to the location in Mallorca to get the villa ready but clearly that’s now out of the question.
"We are very sorry for fans of the show but making it safely is our prime concern and ‘Love Island’ will be back stronger than ever in 2021."
