Jason Manford receives a job offer from Iceland

Jason Manford has been offered a job at Iceland after he was recently rejected by Tesco.
The 38-year-old comedian has been given the chance to work at the supermarket – and raise money for the National Health Service in the process – after Jason jokingly claimed he was "livid" at seeing his job application rejected by Tesco.
In response to the stand-up star’s tongue-in-cheek tweet, Iceland replied: "Our door is always open for you @JasonManford Help us out for the day and we’ll make a donation to the NHS in your name.#everylittlehelps (sic)"
Earlier this week, Jason revealed he offered to work at the supermarket chain for just £8 an hour – but he was rejected by recruiters via email, leaving the TV star to say he was just "trying to do [his] bit" amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The comedian – who applied for a customer services role – joked on Twitter: "Absolutely livid @Tesco . I was only trying to do my bit [laughing emoji] I hope the better person got and enjoys the job, I’ll be watching [eyes emoji] (sic)"
In response to Jason’s application, a Tesco spokesperson said: "We’ve recruited around 50,000 temporary workers during the coronavirus pandemic and they have played a huge part in helping us to serve customers safely during these unprecedented times.
"Jason’s skills would have no doubt brought a lot of joy to our customers and colleagues, so it’s a shame he didn’t make the deadline for this vacancy.
"But should he ever want to join the Tesco family in the future, we’d be happy to receive an application from him."
