Romesh Ranganathan ‘insisted on’ separate flight from Rob Beckett

Romesh Ranganathan demanded to be put on a separate flight from Rob Beckett when filming ‘Rob & Romesh Vs…’
The 42-year-old comedian asked Sky One producers to place him on a different flight from his 34-year-old co-star when travelling across the world for their latest comedy series.
Asked what they did differently for the second series, Rob revealed: "Separate flights, which was something you insisted on, wasn’t it Romesh?" and despite denying he made the request, Romesh was "delighted" to have some time away from the "awful" stand-up comedian.
He explained: "Listen, I didn’t request that but what I will say is that I was delighted when it happened! Rob on a flight – he’s great, he’s a lovely guy, but one of Rob’s favourite things to do is, when we’re together on a flight, whenever I say anything, he’ll say to the staff on the flight, ‘Oh sorry about him’.
"He just makes it look like I’m being a prick regardless, even if I’m just asking for something reasonable like, ‘Is it possible to just get a diet coke or something?’ ‘Sorry about him’, ‘He’s a bit impolite mate’ – he’s awful!"
Rob added: "Whatever he’s said, even if he’s being really nice, I just react to it and I say, ‘Sorry about him he’s had a busy day. He’s a bit stressed. He’s not normally like this. Sorry.’"
The upcoming series – which airs on Sky One and NOW TV from May 5th – will see the comedy duo learn about the worlds of basketball, cricket and ballet, and travel to Los Angeles and South Africa.
Rob and Romesh will meet up with England international cricketers Kevin Pietersen, Johnny Bairstow, Jack Leach and Matt Parkinson before getting stuck into the action on their mission as they tour South Africa.
The pair will also join one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time, Carlos Acosta, on stage, when they perform in a real production of ‘Swan Lake’ as part of the Birmingham Royal Ballet in front of 10,000 people.
‘Rob & Romesh Vs…’ series two starts on Tuesday, May 5th on Sky One and NOW TV.
