Maya Jama tipped for Strictly Come Dancing

Maya Jama is set to compete in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Show bosses are reportedly prepared to break the bank and offer a six-figure sum in order to land the Radio 1 DJ for the BBC dance show.
A source told The Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Maya ticks every box. She is young, beautiful, popular, bright, talented and has a big social media following.
"To get her this year would be a real coup. They have a six-figure fee on the table."
Maya, 25, who previously dated rapper Stormzy, has a thriving radio and TV career and has co-presented ‘Trending Live!’ on 4Music, ‘Cannonball’ on ITV, the MTV show ‘True Love or True Lies’ with Danny Dyer, and the first series of ‘The Circle’ on Channel 4.
She was also one of the presenters tipped to take over ‘Love Island’ from Caroline Flack but the job ultimately went to Laura Whitmore.
Meanwhile, Maya may not be the only celebrity to land a big payday from ‘Strictly’, it was previously claimed that show bosses are preparing to smash their budgets to land big-name stars for this year’s series.
Producers are prepared to pull out all the stops to ensure the Latin and ballroom contest has a strong line-up in order to make the programme a must-watch after the BBC saw a lot of their 2020 schedule disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
A source previously claimed: "Coronavirus has made planning a TV show difficult but producers are keen for ‘Strictly’ to remain the jewel in the BBC’s crown.
"Bookers have been told they can as much as double what they’ve paid for stars in the past.
"They’ve made some offers already and will be continuing to do so over the next few months to lock down a stellar line-up."
Previously, the biggest names on the show were reportedly paid in the "high five figures", with some even close to £100,000.
It is believed JLS singer Aston Merrygold, who competed in 2017, and Anastacia, who was a contestant in 2016, were the previous highest-paid stars.
And it is thought ‘Strictly’ could be in a good position to attract stars to this year’s series after production on numerous shows and films was cancelled, due to the pandemic.
