Mark Labbett is feeling the pressure on Beat the Chasers

Mark Labbett admits the "pressure is on" for the stars of ‘Beat the Chasers’.
The upcoming five-part spin-off series based on popular ITV show ‘The Chase’ sees the top quizzers teaming up to try and stop a member of the audience from walking away with up to ÂŁ100,000.
The contestants initially have the chance to bank ÂŁ5,000 – but they’re out if they get their first question wrong – before then choosing whether to face two, three, four or all five Chasers to try and earn the top prize.
If the players get a question wrong, the clock ticks down, and however runs out of time first is the loser.
Mark said: "The key thing is the time advantage – the fewer Chasers they face the more of a time advantage they’ve got. Because we’re playing catch up, the pressure is always on us."
His co-star Paul Sinha agrees, and insisted the "strategies are different" compared to the main show, which is hosted by Bradley Walsh.
He added: "It’s role reversal. Suddenly the Chasers are the ones under pressure. The game play is different, the strategies are different."
Quiz ace Shaun Wallace admitted the five – completed by Anne Hegerty and Jenny Ryan – "did make mistakes" during the new series, but they knew to play to "each other’s strengths".
He explained: "By and large we worked very well. Obviously we did make mistakes. But we knew each other’s strengths.
"I, for example, wouldn’t answer a question I know Anne would get, or Mark would get or Paul or Jenny would get.
"But I thought our star player throughout the week was Paul. He was very witty, in terms of the wisecracks he came out with and he pulled out some very, very good answers."
‘Beat The Chasers’ starts on Monday (27.04.20) at 9pm on ITV.
