The Masked Singer to start filming in October

Davina McCall has revealed ‘The Masked Singer’ is due to film in October.
The 52-year-old show judge – who is joined on the panel by Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong – admitted filming for the celebrity singing competition has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, but bosses are hopeful the programme will still air early next year.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "We were booked to film this September but I think that’s been pushed back to October now. It will probably come out around the beginning of next year."
However, it is uncertain if the show will feature a studio audience, as it is not yet known when social distancing rules will be lifted.
She said: "It’ll be interesting to see if they allow us to have a studio audience. We’ll have to wait and see."
The TV presenter – who has kids Holly, 18, Tilly, 16, and Chester, 13, with ex-husband Matthew Robertson – has spent the lockdown with her children, and thinks the first series of ‘Big Brother’ would provide a good education for them.
Asked if series one should be available to watch during lockdown, she replied: "Oh God, yeah. Culturally, it would be fascinating for children to watch series one. The fashion, the morals, the arguments.
"The fact that Nasty Nick wrote something down on a piece of paper and the entire nation vilified him. That and the fact there was no sex!"
Davina – who hosted the reality series from 2000 to 2010 – previously compared isolation to living in the ‘Big Brother’ house after watching the housemates for 11 series.
She explained: "I watched for years how people react to long periods in one place and it’s fascinating seeing how it affects people.
"Most housemates started off incredibly positive and excited by the prospect of staying in one place for so long. But slowly, as the weeks went on, things changed. The first thing to go was always routine."
