Junior Bake Off facing axe?

‘Junior Bake Off’ is reportedly facing the axe.
Channel 4 rebooted the ‘Great British Bake Off’ spin-off show last year with Harry Hill at the reins, but it is thought the programme – which originally aired on CBBC from 2011 to 2016 – may not return.
A TV insider said: "’Bake Off’ is the crown jewel in Channel 4’s line-up and the junior edition was very well received.
"When coupled with the fact that it’s a new show and plans were already in place for the next series, its axing may come as a shock.
"But for a daytime programme, it’s a relatively pricey and elaborate production."
Times are tough for TV channels due to the coronavirus lockdown, with production on most shows currently halted, and it is thought ‘Junior Bake Off’ is "at risk".
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "In these uncertain times, every penny counts.
"Even a format as huge as ‘Bake Off’ is at risk."
The first four ‘Junior Bake Off’ series aired on CBBC until 2016, with the main ‘Bake Off’ show then moving to Channel 4.
While ‘Bake Off’ began on Channel 4 in 2017, it wasn’t until 2019 when ‘Junior Bake Off’ made a return.
Harry previously confessed his role as host of ‘Junior Bake Off’ made him "more nervous" than any other show.
He said: "I was very nervous. It’s 10 kids and you have to talk to them and ask them about stuff that I don’t know anything about.
"I was more nervous than my other TV shows as I work with a script normally.
"But I got a lot out of it as well. And I started to relax when I watched it back.
"It dawned on me how to play it. Plus, there were a couple of children who really made me laugh."
